Isaac N. Bard papers, 1862-1882.

The papers inlcude Isaac Bard's journals as a freighter and in Wyoming, 1868-75 and 1888-1917, account books for 1876-88, and diaries describing life as a trader, cattle drives to Omaha, and life on his Chugwater and Little Bear ranches. The collection contains the diary of William Price who worked for Bard on the Little Bear, the diary of Henry Huff who was in the smelting and hardware buiness in Chicago, and the diary of George Danforth who worked in Vermont's New Haven Mills and the Sutherland Mills.

Isaac N. Bard (1842-1919), born near Booneville, New York, served in the Civil War in Company C, 26th New York Volunteers, and Company H, 18th United States Infantry.
